Final Surf and Wilson’s Session

Wednesday brought our final surf session at Playa Encuentro. We surfed the outer breaks today, but the waves were weak. That afternoon we were picked up by Wilson at the hotel, who we later found out was a mayoral candidate for the upcoming elections in Cabarete. He took us on a “river jungle safari” on his boat to his restaurant at La Boca. It was a great trip down the Isla Bon on a very rustic boat.

We filled up on parrot fish, lobster, Presidentes, and piña coladas before making the return trip up river. It was a unique and awesome day. That night we were lazy and watched bad movies and read Shantaram.
